The Latest..

New deviation yall! So check it: www.ashr90.deviantart.com

I just watched Animatrix. It was amazing. My new dream job is to draw for 'movies' like that! Woww.

We had a Beliefs and Values Day yesterday. It was awesome :D Kudos to limbidgit (my link thing isnt working..his blog is on the left-hilarious) for running it. It was based on relationships, more specifically the Five Love Languages, a book written by Gary Chapman.

The book basically explains different people's ways of expressing love and why relationships fail due to miscommunications. The five love languages are physical touch, gifts, words of affirmation, quality time and acts of service. Our year group was encouraged to think about what love langauge we and our loved ones communicated. I found the session really valuable because it made me reassess my relationships and gain more of an understanding about why problems in relationships arise. I'm pretty sure my two main love languages are words of affirmation and gifts.

Only one more week til the holidays! Really looking forward to resting. and finishing my art project.
Must get back to Human Biol study now..and then I can watch Ghost in the Shell (which my brother kindly lent me) and Bladerunner (whihc I'm analysing for English)
After ball buzz is still going :D Here is one of my favourite photos:

Have a lovely weekend all :D

The Ball

Last night was so great. I had my year 12 ball :D
The night started at 7 and I started getting ready at 1. I had hair to be pulled, a scalp to be burned and a face ot be poked at. Not to mention the cause of the difficulty I am having typing right now. Fake nails. I would never had thought I would engage in such a display. I have to say I'm getting used to them, after a while it's just like having long and unnaturally hard nails. ANYWAY. My mum did my hair and make up- an effort she was commended continuously throughout the night. We got to Maddi's house at 5 for the before party, where we drank really nice mocktails and waited nervously for everyone to show up.

The limosine arrived at 6- in the rain. The girls seemed a lot more concerned about this issue than the guys. I love the difference between guys and girls. I think my date said he started getting ready around 3 or 4. Soooo..we all squeezed into our limo (there was 12 of us) which I'm sure was meant for 10 people. We were given the option of Karaoke which Joseph took advantage of and provided valuable entertainment for part of the ride. This included a creepy, German version of "I'm Too Sexy." I'm not at all connecting creepiness to Germans by the way. It just so happened that Jo's accent of choice made him sound both German AND Creepy... or perhaps it was the choice of song..

Jeremy brought a couple of cds that he had prepared for the night which included some death cab, arcade fire, white stripes and phantom planet..yep you guessed it.. CALIFORNIAAAAA...

We arrived at our destination at 7 to be greeted by parents and teachers and my brother and his girlfriend with their cameras. Thankyouuu for the photos guys :D Everybody looked stunning. It was strange actually I'm not used to seeing our year group looking so attractive and calm. I was growing so accustomed to the scruffy haired stress heads of Year 12. More photos were taken when we went inside. Dinner was served shortly after and was rather nice in my opinion. AND THEN CAME THE DANCING..

That was very fun indeed. Our year group could brush up on the barnyard dance or whatever it's called but I was generally impressed with the efforts put into the Jive. Freestyling to Pendulum and Outkast was great fun..especially pretending to dodge bullets the Matrix style when the strobe lights came on. It looks very cool..I recommend trying it some teme. Unless you have epilepsy ofcourse.
But last night..I was so happy to be in year 12 with the bunch of people I was dancing with. We truly are an awesome bunch.

Then came the afters party. The limo picked us up at 12 and took us back to Maddi's, where we got changed out of our formal and into our casual wear. Joseph and Kelly drove us to Matt's house for the after party. The dancing continued in Matt's kitchen which was so fun. I just need to get a hold of Matt's camera..in order to do some...deleting of content...myes.

I'm pretty sure we had the longest Scrubs fest EVER IN THE HISTORY OF COMEDY!!!
We put it on at 1-ish and it stayed on until about 10 in the monring. And we didnt sleep. And I'm very tired. Which means I'm allowed to start my sentences with AND.
Caffeine is here for me though. Helping get through my English homework. Which is actually affecting me quite a bit. I keep relating every little aspect of day to day life with scenes and concepts from the Matrix (which we are studying).

Only Year 12 English students (who understand my new perceptions of reality) will not hate me.
For example, whenever I see people with a spoon, I have to inhibit the urge to run up to them and say, "There is no spoon!" whilst gazing into there eyes dreamily...and shaving my head.

Back to the ball...ahh it was brilliant. All of it. The befores, especially the afters, heck I even enjoyed the blisters on my feet and the stench of BO coming from the dance floor.
Thankyou so much guys for such an awesome night :D
I'll update with more photos when I recieve them from people who were more pro active in the photography department than me.

Back to the prophesy.

The Hairdresser..and other interesting stories

I would just like to share a lovely story that my friend Kerry told me recently, that i felt should be shared with fellow bloggers.
So here it is:
A man was getting his hair cut by his barber. Let's call the man...Fredrich. The barber and Fredrich were chatting casually and suddenly, suddenly they approached the topic of life and death and the existance of (as my friend Gab would put it) the Big G. The barber vindicated his disbelief in God by saying, "I don't belief in God because there is pain and suffering in the world." (Dam Atheist cliches..cough) The man (which actually sound like a better address for this type of story) nodded and, having finished having his hair cut, he left. He looked around outside the barber shop and noticed that there were many men who had unkempt hair. He turned back and entered the barber shop yet again, saying to the barber, "I don't believe in you." The barber was just confused at this point.
"What do you mean you don't believe in me? I just cut your hair."
"Yes," the man replied, "But there are many men out here who's hair you have not cut."
"But that's not my fault! I'm right here but they don't come to me!"
Then the man, who was very pleased with his ability to link theological ideas with grooming-related ideas, then said, "EXACTLY."

Yeah.. we really needed Kerry to tell that story.
Because when Kerry told the story we shivered and almost cried and said WOW.
But people reading this will probably be more like..but what does God have to do with hair?..Who is Fredrich? Where am I? Why is there a parrot on my shoulder?(just being courteous to audience members who are pirates suffering from dementia)
"So far I havent been able to relate to this text at all..ohh a parrot! yes..I was thinking..what..what?.."

The good thing about exam week is spending afternoons having theological discussions with Kerry, Aaron, Gab and Kelly. So nice to hang out with you guys.

Today I was in the city right and me and my friends were like walking put of the esplanade bus station right and then like Gab said this thing that like I thought was intended to be like fully profound. So what happened was..
*Gab and Janelle looking up at ceiling construction of busporty place. Ash thinking about other things.*
Gab says: "It's funny how people always forget to look up."
And ofcourse she was talking about the lack of appreciation for the intricate ceiling design but I thought she meant..well it should be obvious but what ever.
God.
That wasn't blasphemy that's who I thought she was referring to when she said "looking up". You know like being so consumed by the materialistic temporary world that we sometimes forget about the more important things ie "G-unit."

Ummm.. so we were looking for ball dresses and I found a really nice one but it was too expensive..so I was sad but I was happy that I was with my friends.

Friday night was a nice experience. A group of us went to Fremantle. We went to dinner at La Porchettas which was so nice as usual. Then Aaron, Gab and I kicked it A'Capella style on the streets. We came across a busker we did and partner up and jive is what we also did. And then a prostitute (profession is questionable but was inferred) decided to join in with Matt and Kerry. But over all it was a very fun night.

Gah. When you start to get bored of writing a blog, you know that the readers are going to be even more bored so I'm sorry about that. I'm TIRED! and my eyes are BLURRY!
In other news, I had my English and Maths exams and I think they went quite well :)
Now i only have to study for HUMAN BIOLOGY FOR TUESDAY.
Looking forward to further ball dress shopping next week, my drum lesson on Thursday, and hanging out with Sean and Katie and the fam tomorrow and seeing Pirates 3 :D
Also looking forward to having enough time to finish the book Im "reading" at the moment, "Seven Types of Ambiguity." Tis very good, I recommend it.

This weekend I must:
- Learn lines for drama festival.
- Practise drums.
- Study for Human Biol.
- Organize limo
- Stop using blogspot to organize my thoughts and actaully write interesting things that people would want to read.

Bed time has come :D
Peace
