Listening to:"bohemian like you"- dandy warhols- TERRIFIC :D
This is a blog I wrote a while ago and saved as draft. Thought I'd put it out there for the enjoyment of the many readers attracted to my blogging station.
So it's Sunday morning (or so it was when I wrote this) and so far I have had myself a rather good weekend.
On Friday night I had the priviledge of going to see my friend's band "Epsilon" perform. My Art buddy, Aaron (www.chigdzey.blogspot.com) plays bass in this band and does a fine job of it. They played at HQ in Leederville along with a few other bands. Three songs they performed were their own including "Whatever happened?" and then two were versions of the Foo Fighter's "All My Life" and "Bleed America" by.. I can't quite remember. But they were awesome! The croud wasn't that big (obviously people were unaware of what they were missing) but that was okay, as it left us more room to dance. To have a listen to Epsilon go to www.myspace.com/epsilontheband and you might be directed to their myspace.
In other news, some of us from school (including Aaron) are planning to form a large band. We're hoping to have two kepboardists and maybe two drummers (me being one of them). Hopefully we can get a male and female vocalist. Should be very fun. :D
After the gig I stayed at Gabs and I introduced her to the first season of Extras.
To be continued.....NOW
Present times/near future
We are having our first rehearsal tomorrow! Fist cover- Muse- Sunburn
By we I mean:
Ashley- drums
Kelly- vocals
Matt- guitar
Alana-keyboard
Aaron- bass
ohhh yes.. Gab was going to be our second keyboardist but she totally baled. I think she said someting about the fame and money causing problems later down the track. I dunno. And yeah alright in the past I thought we'd be a massive band but its not that easy okay we are starting small and building it up so just leave it out! You wouldnt even know what band are u in? What's that? None. Well.
But I'm thinking I'd really like us to eventually produce a sound inspired by bands like architecture in helsinki and arcade fire. Not that I'm comparing our band to bands like these..clearly we are setting our goals a bit higher (OBVIOUSLY I'm joking.. these bands are amazing!!!) but it would be nice to experiment with a variety of instruments. Like an electric violin!
I think I will finish my other entry about Gattaca and genetic engineering now.
Its like blogmania!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111
You know why? because I have an english report to write, a human biol assignment, history reading, art folio to complete and a well massive painting. I've also never practised by drums so much since I quit my lessons to focus on school.
blog blog blog.
comin at ya like a flannel.
ps. seeing as it's the ten year anniversary of Radiohead's OK COMPUTER there's going to be a cover released from different indie artists of the cd how sweet is that! I heard a rumour that death cab are involved..perhaps I will do more research..
Over and out
